David Tsai, who had been serving as interim chief executive since Ciarán Carruthers's retirement on September 31st, has been named permanent chief executive by Crown Resorts.
David Tsai Carruthers, CEO of Crown, announced his resignation in late August and is expected to leave completely by December 31. With effect from 1 September, Tsai was appointed interim chief executive officer of Crown. Tsai will now take on the post full-time, pending the necessary regulatory permissions.
With extensive managerial experience, Tsai became Crown's chief executive officer (CEO) for the Perth office in December 2022. Before stepping into the post of acting CEO in August of this year, he served as president and group COO.
Tsai was head of the Midwest Group at MGM Resorts for nearly three years before joining Crown. After serving as president and chief operating officer at Gold Strike Casino Resort, MGM Grand Detroit, and MGM Northfield Park, this was followed by this.

Crown was recently hit with yet another fine in Victoria, Australia, prompting the appointment.
Crown was penalised with a fine of AU$2 million (£1.0 million/€1.2 million/US$1.3 million) by the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission earlier this month for permitting self-excluded individuals to bet. According to the regulator, this was in violation of state regulations.
